Prof. Biswajeet Pattanayak is an internationally acclaimed expert in Human Resource Management and a renowned management educator. As a Founder and President of ASBM University, he has dedicated over three decades to augmenting educational excellence and fostering social responsibility.

Throughout his illustrious career, Prof. Pattanayak has held numerous strategic leadership roles, including:

  • Professor at Indian Institute of Management (Lucknow, Indore, and Mumbai)
  • Director at Indian Institute of Bank Management

His academic credentials include a Ph.D. and D.Litt. in Organizational Behavior and a D.Sc. in Management Science. He is also a Fellow of the All India Management Association (AIMA), highlighting his dedication to advancing management education.

Additionally, as a mentor under the ‘Mo School’ initiative, he supports transformative educational reforms aimed at uplifting underprivileged schools.

His involvement in formulating the Odisha State Education Policy and contributions to the National Education Policy, 2020, as a member of the consultative group for NITI Ayog, demonstrate his commitment to shaping inclusive educational frameworks.

Establishment of ASBM and Commitment to Ethical Leadership

In 2006, Prof. Pattanayak established the Asian School of Business Management (ASBM) in Bhubaneswar, which has since become a leading institution with a focus on ethical leadership and social responsibility. Under his leadership, ASBM has:

  • Upgraded to a full-fledged private state university by the Government of Odisha.
